Grazing tables & sharing boards for weddings, parties and anything worth celebrating — made across West Sussex by one chef who genuinely loves doing this.
In a mosaic, a single tessera means nothing alone — cut by hand, exact, interchangeable. It's only when it's set beside every other piece that a pattern appears. That's the idea behind the food: individually precise, and considerably more than the sum of its parts once it's on the table.
Hi, I'm Jamie — the person behind Tessera, and the only person you'll ever deal with, from your first message right through to the last board being cleared away.
I've spent years in proper professional kitchens, but Tessera isn't about the CV — it's about building food that looks brilliant and tastes even better, without any of the stiff, overly formal stuff getting in the way.
No two events are the same, so nothing here is one-size-fits-all — pick a package as your starting point, and I'll happily tailor it around whatever you actually need, whether that's a full wedding spread, a birthday table for twelve, or something in between. Got something specific in mind? Just ask.
I keep things deliberately small — one chef, full attention, no corporate faff — so the person planning your food is the same person turning up on the day to serve it.
Choose one of three curated packages — just tell us your guest count — or build your own from six individual formats in Small, Medium or Large. Combine as many as you like.
Tell us how many guests, choose a style, and we'll work out exactly how many boards you need.
Every format comes in Small, Medium and Large — mix and match as many as you like.
Drawn from the sun-warmed tables of Italy, Greece and southern Spain — cured meats, marinated vegetables and soft, milky cheeses, finished with good olive oil and fresh herbs. A style built for sharing, the way it always has been there.
Rooted in Scandinavia's tradition of curing, smoking and pickling — cured fish, dense rye, fresh dill and something bright and pickled to cut through the richness. Cool, precise, and quietly confident.
A classic French charcuterie board, done properly — artisan cured meats and a considered selection of cheeses, alongside pâté, cornichon and something sweet to finish. Understated, and exactly as it should be.
Rooted in the mezze tradition of the Eastern Mediterranean — whipped labneh, warm spice, roasted vegetables and toasted nuts, served alongside warm flatbread. Generous, fragrant, and made for lingering over.
*All prices are per board, not per person — combine formats to build a bigger spread.
You haven't added anything to your order yet — head back up to What We Serve to choose a format, size and style.
No individual covers, no three courses, no set service order — that's a deliberate limit, not a gap. Cold is what makes the precision possible: you can't tessellate something that has to leave a kitchen hot.
All six boards shown are real Tessera photography.
